The Philadelphia convention resulted in the scrapping of the Articles of Confederation for an entirely new American Constitution. Neither the Declaration of Independence, nor any of these 51 documents contain any mention of democracy. There are 50 State Constitutions in America and one Federal Constitution. They have never been, nor did the founders ever ratify a Democracy. These United States of America are a Republic.
